I trained as a psychiatrist and have worked, with purpose, for the last 40 years, as a mental health professional and a research scientist studying the neurodevelopmental origins of mental illness. 

Lately, I am trying to paint and write...with no particular focus. I follow thoughts and memories as they arise ..and wonder where it leads me!

As social animals, sharing creative work is very rewarding. One feels connected to others through shared experience.  It is validating to have someone experience something you’ve created. Without doubt, it stokes the ego of self-promotion! 

But it's also daunting.  It puts one in a position, where criticism and ‘conditions of worth’ become a possibility ....
